Multan Board inaugurated in 1968 and has command over many areas which are affiliated with it. Generally the board affiliate only adjacent areas and these are Multan, Lodhran Vehari, Khanewal regions. After it establishment the board was controlling authority for Bahawalpur, Kallat, Quetta Dera Ghazi Khan and Multan districts. Currently the Bahawalpur, Quetta, Dera Ghazi Khan are also independent authorities and develops, regulates and control the matric and intermediate exams.
